i have the same problem, I used to have a normal google search box on my portal and it would return exactly the same results as google itself

suddenly it didnt work anymore

I replaced it with the custom search thing and it stinks big time, i have many clients and not only does this particular search feature return totally different listings than the normal google but most of my 300+ business websites, even those who appear FIRST in certain searches on google.com doesnt appear at all in custom search

If Clickbank.com is now accepting Malaysians, I suppose I can work to include their advertisements here. Let me know your (clickbank) user name as soon as possible.

I have had the same concern since using the Google CSE on my web site. Once the search engine rank honeymoon was over I couldn't find even 50% of my pages using Google. I am now looking into paying $50-$100 for a third party program. I simply don't want a single page to be missed by a visitor to my site. Can't think of a better way to kill my rank than that.

Well, here's a brief overview of how to view the pretty graphs.
*The opening screen ("Dashboard") is pretty self explanatory. It gives you a concise overview of the big things people care about: day-to-day graph of visitors, summaries of various visit paramaters, a map of where people are coming from, how they're finding the site, and which pages are getting the most hits.
*In the left column you can drill down for more in-depth info for visitors, traffic sources, content, and goals. Goals are more for businesses since they are used to determine certain benchmarks, e.g. how many visitors complete a purchase or register.

There's a lot of information there but in reality a lot of it is redundant across the pages. Perhaps the most useful tools are the keyword searches and referring sites. They help you tweak any keywords on the site (more difficult with blogs) and you can see how people are finding your site. If you'll notice, the Firefox plugin "StumbleUpon" is a large traffic generator, currently ranked #4. This tool is simply a random Internet page generator, so a good chunk of the people visiting aren't directly looking for our content.

Hope that answers some of your questions.

Do what I do, just look at the pretty graphs... :P

Seriously, I don't spend a lot of time on Google Analytics usually. In other words, I don't know much about it either.

The only thing that I use Google Analytics for is to find out which search engine is doing what for the site.
